Sponsor Spotlight: GetOutdoors Pedal and Paddle
Our first ever Sponsor Spotlight article is for the wonderful kayak and bicycle outfitter of Greensboro, NC, GetOutdoors Pedal and Paddle! We really can’t say enough good things about business owner/ ACA Certified Kayak Instructor, Will Seeley and Salesman/ ACA Certified SUP Instructor, Ray Olive, who have shown up in a very big way for Deep River Riverkeeper (DRRK). Not only are they kind and knowledgeable, they are also funny. Hanging with them has been a great experience.
Deep River Riverkeeper is just beginning as a non-profit organization and we have limited resources. We wanted to host paddle events on the Deep River but needed kayaks to provide for community members who do not have their own. We were blessed to meet GetOutdoors owner Will Seeley who offered in-kind donations to support this effort. Will and Ray provided kayaks for our Board Paddle in May on the Deep River, for a cleanup at Oak Hollow in June, and will be assisting us again on September 20th for our first DRRK New Member Paddle in Chatham County. These guys are very busy, so to offer their time and their boats to help us get started has been so kind. Not only that, they have helped to connect us to volunteers and important stakeholders within our region and shared our Facebook posts, which helps us to get our name out there.

For nearly 30 years, GetOutdooors has offered a wide variety of service and repairs on most styles of kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards; and more recently service on all brands and types of bicycles. Their instructional staff lead a variety of group, and private paddling classes; they take participants on monthly local kayak trips like sunset, and full moon paddles. Additionally, their guides offer both day and overnight coastal and river trips across the state.
GetOudoors staff and owners are experts in their field and do a great deal of service work and environmental advocacy throughout the state of North Carolina.
