Volunteers and Membership

Deep River Riverkeeper (DRRK) is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization dedicated: “To protect the Deep River and Its Neighbors through science, education and stewardship”. We are committed to working with the community as a liaison between data, water quality regulation, public health, municipalities, industry, utilities and you, who live by and drink from this precious resource. We are looking for volunteers, citizen scientists and those who live within our subbasins in Guilford, Randolph, Moore, Chatham and Lee counties to join us in monitoring and advocating for this critical water source. There are many opportunities to help out with the Deep River Riverkeeper and we would love to hear from you! Volunteering can be active sampling, taking photographs for us when you’re on the river, reporting to us if you are aware of any water quality issues, and helping us to get our name out there to all the counties this 125 mile river flows through! You are the key to the Deep River’s Future! You can arrange your volunteer time with us around your schedule! If you want to volunteer or need more information about volunteering, please contact Riverkeeper Stephanie Stephens by email at Stephanie@deepriverkeepersnc.org or by phone at 336-500-7277.

In addition to volunteering, Deep River Riverkeeper is actively seeking donations and memberships to support our launch and make our work possible. As the newest Riverkeeper organization in North Carolina, we are counting on you. Now, more than ever, you can be the difference in your environment by supporting our water quality monitoring and public service. You can ensure that a strong voice is advocating for our water, environment and community. When you donate, you demonstrate community support to future grant makers. And - Business and Corporate Sponsorships are essential to our goals! It’s easy - Donate today through the DRRK website. You will BE the difference for the Deep River and its future generations! Donations of any size are appreciated and give you membership in the DRRK!
